This week on “The West Block” Mercedes Stephenson speaks to Mehmet Tohti, executive director of the Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project. On the vote the Liberal cabinet abstained from in the House of Commons recognizing China’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang province as genocide, Tohti says, “our government, instead of abstaining from voting, we should stand up and we should do something…to bring those responsible officials to justice.”
