When asked about Tuesday’s news regarding Texas and Mississippi removing their mask mandates and fully re-opening their economies amid the coronavirus pandemic, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Wednesday that President Joe Biden’s position to wear face masks is based on recommendations by medical experts and that wearing these can save up to 50,000 lives, she claimed. Psaki added the entire country has “paid the price for political leaders who ignored the science” when it comes to COVID-19, referring to Donald Trump.
