The acting chief of the U.S. Capitol Police, Yogananda Pittman, on Thursday warned that militia groups that were present during the Jan. 6 riot have “stated their desire that they want to blow up the Capitol and kill as many members as possible” with a “direct nexus” to President Joe Biden’s address at the State of the Union. Pittman said while said address has not yet been scheduled, the security posture around the Capitol through the speech due to the threat.
