Dr. Bonnie Henry says she was “taken aback by the misinterpretation” by the union representing RCMP officers of comments she made to a special committee looking to reform the B.C. Police Act. She says she intended to provide examples to show the complex social issues that police officers on the front lines address around drug use and mental health issues, and there was “absolutely no criticism at all.”
