When asked about Canada’s timeline for easing health restrictions following the UK’s announcement about lifting all of its COVID-19 restrictions by June 21, chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam said on Tuesday that COVID-19 vaccines “will play a critical role in easing public health measures” in Canada, adding that vaccinating as many people as possible “means that resurgence then becomes less likely.”
