Montreal’s mayor and the chief of police made an appearance in Rivière-des-Prairies Thursday to reassure the public and share details of a new anti-gun squad set to launch in late February. The announcement came after a recent increase in shootings in the north-east end of the city. But as Global’s Dan Spector reports, the community is skeptical about the plan.
