Centers for Disease Control (CDC) director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said on Wednesday that COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the U.S. have been decreasing, and appear to be in a “consistent downward trajectory.” Walensky added that while deaths have continued to increase, “the pace appears to be slowing.”
