Alberta chief medical officer of health Dr. Deena Hinshaw updates the COVID-19 situation in the province on Tuesday, Feb. 2, saying cases, hospitalizations and deaths are trending downwards — but new variant cases are a concern. Hinshaw said Alberta Health Services has formed a dedicated contact tracing team as the province reported 50 cases of the U.K. variant and seven of the South Africa variant.
