Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top advisor on COVID-19 to U.S. President Joe Biden, said on Thursday that at this time COVID-19 vaccines do work on the various “mutant” variants impacting the country, such as those that originated in the U.K. and South Africa. He did add that they have plans in place to adjust should any issues arise with the current vaccines and their efficacy against the variants.
