White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Wednesday that the administration and President Joe Biden were “confident” the Senate could multitask and both get things done for the American public through the passage of bills and confirmation of cabinet nominees, while also handling the impeachment trial of former president Donald Trump. Asked why Biden would not ask for impeachment to be dropped given it could be seen as divisive, the president said he would leave the mechanics and timing of impeachment to the Senate.
