Almost 200,000 US flags were planted in Washington’s National Mall on January 18 ahead of the inauguration of Joe Biden as president of the United States. The Field of Flags represented the Americans who could not attend the event due to COVID restrictions and security threats. The display of flags was to be accompanied by 56 pillars of light.
