U.S. President Donald Trump condemned what he called an “unprecedented assault on free speech” in the days following the riot in the U.S. Capitol. Trump said, despite his earlier attacks on the legitmate results of the U.S. election, that Americans should “rise above the rancour,” and said “efforts to censor, cancel and blacklists” fellow Americans are “dangerous.”
