Surrey council turns down motion to recognize Indigenous land acknowledgement

Every news conference and event involving members of the provincial government opens with an acknowledgement of Indigenous land. But when Surrey Councillor Jack Hundial tried to make that happen in his city, members of the mayor’s Safe Surrey Coalition voted against the motion. As Catherine Urquhart reports, Hundial says he’s shocked and disappointed.
