On Sunday’s episode of CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Moncef Slaoui, one of the chief advisors of the U.S. vaccine rollout plan dubbed “Operation: Warp Speed” said that “it is normal to expect variants” of the COVID-19 virus since it is normal behaviour for coronaviruses to mutate, and that vaccines should work on protecting the population against variants of the novel coronavirus as well.
