Pfizer and BioNTech said on Monday they are ready to immediately ship initial doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, branded in the European Union as Comirnaty, to the 27 EU member states. Ugur Sahin, Chief Executive of BioNTech, said Tuesday they are “absolutely excited and thrilled that we got the approval from the EMA (European Medicines Agency).”
