World Health Organization (WHO) director-general, Dr. Tedros Adhanom spoke at the UN’s Special Session of the General Assembly on Friday, saying the COVID-19 pandemic has shown “what humanity is capable of at its best and worst.” Although there have been “inspiring acts of compassion,” Tedros said the pandemic has also led to “disturbing signs of self-interest, blame shifting and division.”
