Canada’s Minister of Justice David Lametti said on Thursday the UN Declaration on Human Rights of Indigenous People will require the government to align federal laws with human rights standards in the declaration and requires the government to report annually to Parliament on its progress, which offers hope to Indigenous people for a more equitable future, he said.
