Dr. Soumya Swaminathan with the World Health Organization (WHO) on Monday said they were encouraged by the results presented by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford in their late-stage vaccine trial, given recent announcements also by Pfizer and Moderna. She said the good news to take from the announcement was that vaccines for COVID-19 are possible to make and it’s possible they’ll have a number of viable vaccines to use.
