Coronavirus: New York City public schools to close as COVID-19 cases rise

New York City’s school district, the largest in the U.S., will halt in-person learning starting on Thursday, NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday. He said the city has hit the three per cent mark for positive COVID-19 cases, and as a result all public schools must close for the coming days.
