Two people were able to safely escape a house fire in Alnwick/Haldimand Township on Tuesday evening.
The blaze on Bowmanton Road in Fenella broke out just after 7 p.m.
Firefighters found two people outside when they arrived. Flames were visible from the second floor.
An occupant said a generator was running due to a power outage and when the power was restored, the light flickered and they discovered the fire.
The home suffered extensive damage.
