When asked why new COVID-19 restrictions in Saskatchewan will not be applied to churches after one was linked to a “superspreader” event, chief medical health officer Dr. Saqib Shahab said on Wednesday that churches and places of worship in the province have been “extremely diligent” amid the pandemic and that one superspreading event “should not penalize an entire sector.”
