Carolyn Bennett, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, said on Monday that “all Canadians have a responsibility” to ensure treaties are upheld and implemented, when speaking about the recent treaty dispute over Mi’kmaq fishing rights in Nova Scotia. Bennett added that “the failure to define moderate livelihood has maintained the uncertainty.”
