NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh on Thursday furthered his push during question period for a tax on “excess profits” he had announced earlier in the day to temporarily tax those who had financially benefitted from the COVID-19 pandemic. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded, saying the government had already put a tax on the “wealthiest one per cent” and would continue to support the middle class.
