NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh on Thursday said the party was calling for a tax to be put in place by the government on “excess profits,” saying it would be temporarily put on the “extremely wealthy” who have benefitted from the coronavirus pandemic. Singh said this could include the “mega grocery stores” that have profited from COVID-19.
