Canada’s Deputy Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Howard Njoo spoke Tuesday about the benefits of the newly approved Panbio rapid antigen test, saying the test is “easier to use” and that while its results are not as reliable as tests done in a laboratory setting, it can be a complement to a comprehensive testing strategy. Njoo described settings that would benefit from antigen testing, such as a remote work site or a crowded workplace like a meatpacking facility that would benefit from regular testing.
