When asked Monday why his government had chosen to repatriate an orphaned girl from an ISIS detention camp in northeastern Syria, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that it was an “exceptional case.” Trudeau said the girl no longer had any close family, which is why officials “worked very hard over the past months” to bring her to Canada.
