Minister of Indigenous Services Marc Miller reacted on Tuesday to the death of Joyce Echaquan, an Indigenous woman who died amid troubling circumstances at a hospital in Joliette, Que. Millar called for a full inquest into her death, adding that the alleged racism that may have contributed to Echaquan’s death is “not an isolated event” in Canada.
