Canada chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam commended Ontario on its accelerated testing despite rising COVID-19 cases, saying that the province’s positivity rate is still “relatively low.” Tam also said it’s important that provinces clear up backlogs because that can impact contact tracing and efforts to help curb the spread of the virus.
