Governor General Julie Payette said during the throne speech on Wednesday that the COVID-19 pandemic has shown why Canadians “need a resilient health care system,” and that the government will “ensure that everyone, including in rural and remote areas” has access to a primary care team or family doctor. She added they will also continue to expand capacity to deliver virtual health care.
