Breonna Taylor shooting: Kentucky AG says officers returned fire in self-defence

A Kentucky grand jury on Wednesday indicted a single police officer for shooting into neighbouring apartments, but did not move forward with charges against any officers for their role in Breonna Taylor’s death. Attorney General Daniel Cameron said afterward that “Det. Cosgrove and Sgt. Mattingly were justified in returning fire because they were fired upon.” Taylor, a Black woman, was shot and killed by police during a drug raid gone wrong on March 13.
