Speaking in the U.S. Senate on Monday, Mitch McConnell said that President Donald Trump’s pick for the vacant seat on the Supreme Court would “receive a vote.” He said the Senate has “more than sufficient time” to confirm a nomination ahead of the election on Nov. 3, and argued it is facing a different situation than it was in following Justice Antonin Scalia’s death when he refused to allow a vote on Barack Obama’s selection, Merrick Garland.
