Canada’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Theresa Tam said on Friday that the ongoing increase in national daily COVID-19 case counts is an indicator of “accelerated epidemic growth,” which increases “the likelihood that we could lose the ability to keep COVID-19 cases at manageable levels.” She added that Canadians should “redouble their efforts” with taking precautions to help slow the spread of the virus.
