Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson said while it’s important for elected officials to listen to the demands made during protests and from residents of the homeless camps, there is no requirement to fulfill them. Iveson said the city also has other obligations such as finding sustainable housing in order to address some of the root issues of homelessness.
