Coronavirus: COVID-19 vaccine unlikely before late 2021, CDC director says

Robert Redfield, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) told a U.S. Senate subcommittee hearing on Wednesday that it will be the “late second quarter or third quarter of 2021” before a COVID-19 vaccine is generally available for the American public.
