OPP say a body of a North York, Ont., man was recovered Saturday after a canoe carrying a family of four capsized on a lake near Minden on Saturday.
Emergency crews were called to Moore Lake around 2:30 p.m. when a canoe carrying a man, woman and two children capsized. OPP say the man managed to hand rescuers one of the children before slipping under the water.
His body was recovered around 6:30 p.m.
OPP say a an absence of safety equipment as a significant contributing factor in the incident.
