Regarding the shut down of WE Charity’s Canadian operations, in part from the “political firestorm” stemming from them being chosen to deliver the now-cancelled Canada Student Service Grant program, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau lamented on Friday the “unfortunate” outcome of the process behind the grant, especially for students. Trudeau reiterated that in his view, there was no conflict of interest, even though he realizes now that he should have initially recused himself from the cabinet decision on WE Charity.
