After Justice Minister Kaycee Madu asked the mayors of Edmonton and Calgary not to defund their police forces, Don Iveson said that was “ironic,” saying in his previous role as in municipal affairs, Madu was very keen on the city scrubbing down budgets and reducing costs. Iveson pointed out policing is the city’s largest budget item.
