U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday said he had approved a major disaster declaration for California on Saturday as the state continues to deal with major wildfires. He said his administration is working with Gov. Gavin Newsom and state and local politicians, and they will “take care of the situation.” He also said they grieve for the deaths of five residents and two first responders.
