Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, said in recent weeks contact tracers have encountered many people feeling shameful or being shamed over COVID-19. She said there’s concern it will lead to people being less willing to be tested or be honest with contact tracers about their activities, adding compassion is needed to keep each other safe.
