The top infectious disease expert in the U.S., Dr. Anthony Fauci, said Wednesday during a virtual podcast hosted by George Washington University that he doesn’t believe a COVID-19 vaccine should be mandatory. He also said he doesn’t believe the vaccine approved in Russia would be “safe and effective” because it likely hasn’t undergone “large randomized placebo controlled trials.”
