Highest global temperature in a century has potentially been reported in California’s Death Valley

The highest global temperature in more than a century may have just been reported in Death Valley, in the Mojave Desert, according to the U.S. National Weather Service. The thermometer at Furnace Creek recorded 54.4 C, but it still has to be verified.
