After months of racking up debt due to COVID-19, Peterborough city and county are getting a government top up to their coffers.
The municipalities will receive a total of more than $10 million combined. The money is part of the federal and provincial government’s first found of emergency funding, meant to provide relief to municipalities as they struggle to financially recover from the pandemic.
