New police body camera video was made public providing a closer look at the arrest that led to the death of George Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man who died while in police custody on Memorial Day in Minneapolis, Minn. The video reveals what was said between two officers, Thomas Lane and J Alexander King, as former officer Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck. The body camera showed Lane asking whether to move Floyd, and said that Lane thought he was passing out. The video was released after several media organizations asked for it to be made public.
