Conservative MP finance critic Pierre Poilievre criticized the federal government’s handling of the Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance program, after learning it had paid a firm that employs Robert Silver, the husband of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s chief of staff Katie Telford, to administer the program. Poilievre called the program “a disaster” and said the opposition would ask the lobbying commissioner to investigate.
