Lack of racial diversity in medical textbooks could put BIPOC patients at risk

The Black Lives Matter movement against racial inequality has forced a reckoning among different fields, including in sports, media and politics. Even health care is not immune to systemic racism. For example, when it comes to the way some conditions present in darker skin, compared to white skin. As Aalia Adam explains, ignoring these differences not only alienates patients but in some cases can be deadly.
