In the face of the pandemic, Vancouver police say they’re seeing a significant spike in hate crimes this year — particularly incidents targeting Canadian of Asian heritage. So far this year, VPD has said there have been 155 hate- associated reports up from 69 for the same time period last year. Sarah MacDonald has the latest.
