Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, on Friday said the U.S. is in an “obviously difficult situation” right now with the recent surge in cases that has left the country with over 3.5 million confirmed cases and nearly 140,000 deaths. Dr. Fauci said that in his opinion, the U.S. needs to suppress the resurgence that has occurred in states such as California and Florida.
