The World Health Organization’s (WHO) emergencies programme executive director Michael Ryan said on Monday that their main focus is the COVID-19 pandemic and helping countries around the world, as well as responding to other medical emergencies globally and they trust they will continue to be able to work in scientific collaboration with the U.S. despite its planned formal withdrawal from the WHO. Director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus added that they had not yet received the formal letter of withdrawal as of Monday.
