World Health Organization director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated bluntly on Monday that “too many countries are headed in the wrong direction” in containing the spread of the coronavirus. This came after the organization reported a record increase of 230,370 global COVID-19 cases on Sunday, with 80 per cent coming from just 10 countries and more than 50 per cent from just two countries.
