World Health Organization executive director Dr. Michael Ryan responded to a question on Friday on the rise in COVID-19 cases amid lifting lockdown restriction by saying “it must be expected that the virus will bounce back once lockdowns are ended.” He added that it’s “very unlikely” that in the current situation the world would be able to eradicate or eliminate the virus.
